  1.     As much as anything in our world today, we are inspired and nourished by the community of people we meet who share our passion. Certainly you are one of those people to those of us who have thrown ourselves into our own personal missions to tell the story of Mare Island and to keep its rich history vibrant. We may not all belong to the same organization and being individuals, we each bring something quite different to the telling. You are every bit as valuable to us as this precious treasured place we share.

  2.     If this is your first time to learn of Mare Island, St. Peter’s Chapel and the Daffodil Tea, welcome. If you are an old-timer to Mare Island, your story matters much in the weaving of the tapestry that will ensure that the Island, or the Base as you might think of it, continues to hold a place of importance in American naval and maritime history. Tell us your story. Share with us your photos. Come often to this website and when you can, to our beloved Mare Island. Together, we will find pleasure in the telling of the stories of the past, and joy in the creation of new ones.

  3. Warmly,
